Last Friday,
Van Sutherland and I took to the streets of Austin to see what we could find during the 2011 Republic of Texas Biker Rally right here in Austin, Texas. For the occasion, I brought along my new
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G Autofocus Lens to play with.
Yes, I took the advice of most of the guys from
this post and pulled the trigger on this lens. Anyway, that was my main lens for our excursion and I must say, it is pretty fun to play with. As you can see in the shot below, it has great bokeh and it's incredibly sharp. I just have to get used to such a shallow depth of field, but it is fun to blur the background for a different look. Getting pics during the rally was interesting since I was playing with the new lens. Most of them are trash, and really this one isn't great, but I like it none the less.
Oh, and about the rally... I've never seen so many bikes on one place before in my whole life! Supposedly there were 45,000 - 50,000 at the rally! As a former biker, I was in hog heaven! It really makes me want to get another, but not sure I ever will.
Well, thanks for dropping by and if you ever want a good prime for your Nikon, get the
Nikkor 50mm f1.4D!
