Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oy, oy, oy!!! Today is "Australia's official national day and is celebrated on the 26th of January. It commemorates the landing of the First Fleet in Sydney Cove on that day in 1788." You can read more about Aussie Day
here.
As usual, I'm a little late to the party. A year and a day late. You see, I took the photo below on Aussie Day last year in Whistler, BC, CA. And, since Aussie Day is over by now in Australia, I'm a year and a day late. Oh well, better late than never. Anyway, on Aussie Day last year at Whistler, these guys were lined up outside of some club ready to have a nice quiet evening as you can imagine. Lots of Australian college students come to Whistler for work about half of the year, so half of the people working there have that great Aussie accent. It's pretty cool! They are a very subdued lot. Well, maybe subdued is not the word, but they do love to have fun!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for stopping by.
