Cactus in the Bluebonnets

April 17, 2013  •  Leave a Comment
It's wildflower season here in Texas.  The bluebonnets along with evening primrose and all sorts of other varieties of flowers are in full bloom.  However, this isn't one of the best years for wildflowers due to the lack of rain, but it's still nice to see them spring up.  Unfortunately, I haven't really gotten out there to shoot any this year, but I did have this shot that I took last year from when Eileen and I went out to Willow City.  I like how the prickly pear cactus' quills are accented by the sun and how it just sits in a sea of bluebonnets.  Pure Texas.  (Click on the picture to see a larger version.)
