Happy 239th Birthday, America!
Happy 4th of July everyone! Here's wishing you and yours a great 4th and don't burn yourself shooting off the awesome fireworks! Oh, and of course, let's not forget why we celebrate this day and let's hope we have a better memory in the days ahead as to why we do celebrate this day! (I will leave that last statement open to interpretation.. :-)).
As far as this shot goes, it's a compilation of two pictures I took.. The flag is our very own that we fly at the sprawling Gearing compound here in Georgetown, TX and the other is of a bald eagle that we saw at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center outside of Girdwood, AK from our fun trip to Alaska last year. I just took the liberty of masking the eagle on top of the flag and lo and behold, the perfect 4th of July pic, without the fireworks of course. Maybe I'll get the fireworks into one for next year!
