We are really enjoying our trip to Sun Valley, ID. The snow is incredible! It's basically been snowing non-stop since we got here on Saturday. Really makes for great skiing. I traded my skis out today for skis more suited to powder. We'll see how that goes tomorrow.
This shot here is of the restaurant at the top of the mountain called Lookout Day Lodge. You can see how much snow is up there as the restaurant is half-buried in it. You have to walk down just to get through the doorway. I stopped in there towards the end of the day yesterday for a beverage. As I was sitting there, a gentleman from the resort staff said that the lift to get there had to be closed because of high winds. It was crazy windy up there! I wondered if they would do that because that lift seemed to always stop just before I got to the top and it was just whipping up there. It was really hard to see where you were going. You can't really get a sense of the wind int his shot, but trust me, it was!
Usually when I go skiing I will take the Fuji X-T1 up with me to take some pictures. However, with this snow, I'm not sure I want to do this. So, I'm trying the iPhone out and editing with Lightroom Mobile and all of that. This is the first result.
I hope enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by. As always, click here to see the high-res version of the final image.
