Jerome, AZ is a cool little hippie town on the side of a mountain not too far from Flagstaff. It used to be a mining town back in the late 1800s early 1900s. The town boomed in the days around WWI and then fell during the great depression. The population went to its lowest in the 1950s with maybe 100 residents. Then in the 1960s and 70s, a new turn toward tourism started with art galleries, restaurants and other things to help its recovery. Some say that the hippies found this place and made it into what it is now. It does have that eclectic hippie vibe for sure! It's a interesting place to visit. As Eileen and I strolled the streets, we found this old VW Microbus with a bunch of bumper stickers all over it. Owned by a hippie perhaps? You make the call..
I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by.
