Cedar Waxwing

January 19, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

This is a bird that Eileen found in the driveway one Saturday morning as she left for the grocery store. When she got back about an hour later, the bird was still there.  She showed it to me and naturally I ran to get my camera.  When I first approached him before I grabbed the camera, I probably could've picked him (her?) up.  But when I got the camera and tried to take pictures of it, it started to flutter off across the yard towards the hedges.  I was able to get a couple of snaps before he got totally into the bushes.  I guess he was either slightly injured, maybe sick or very young and just learning to fly.  If he's as dumb as the stupid doves around here, he may have flown into the garage door and stunned himself.

I hope you enjoy the photo and thanks for dropping by.
